Event Notes

× The Tidemark Theatre is excited to present Andrea Bettger and Digawolf, in partnership with Music From the Edges of Canada!

Music from the Edges of Canada is a national music series that showcases 22 artists in 11 Live and Virtual Concerts in four Theatres from the edges of Canada. The venue partners are the Imperial Theatre, Saint John, NB; the Tidemark Theatre, Campbell River, BC; the Yukon Arts Centre, Whitehorse, YT; and the Northern Arts & Cultural Centre, Yellowknife, NT.

Andrea Bettger

Andrea Bettger has experience playing classical, jazz and bluegrass styles, and experiments in the electric world of sounds on her instrument. She has become heavily involved in the Northern-fiddling scene. The fusion of these approaches results in an exciting blend of toe-tapping material, complemented with meditative and heart-warming melodies.

Andrea’s diverse musical background and experience has led her to write music that is heavily influenced by Northern Métis fiddling, and jazz, gypsy, and classical violin styles. The fusion of these approaches results in an exciting blend of toe-tapping material, complemented with meditative and heart-warming melodies. Andrea lives on a small island in Yellowknife in a cozy off-grid cabin with her husband Mike, her daughter Sadee, her son Jolliffe, and her dog Sambaa.

Digawolf

Diga is an award-winning Tlicho musician who resides in Yellowknife, NWT. He has been producing music for over a decade and has 8 studio albums of Tlicho and English language music spanning several genres. Diga performs as Digawolf and has done national and international touring. He has been called “Yellowknife's answer to Cohen's Montreal hymns, Young's Prairie parables, Lang's Albertan anthems, and Doiron's Maritime deep cuts.” - Kyle Mullin, Exclaim!, February 2019. Digawolf is a Tlicho and English language band. This is a new sound for Digawolf, combining his classic earthy sound with sound looping, textures, and mixes typical of electronic music productions.
