Event Notes

× Thunder Road performs a scintillating tribute to one of Music’s iconic Rockers, Bruce Springsteen. Lonnie Glass(The Boss) playing the “essential” fender Telecaster, performs the Greatest Hits with precision, exercising all the nuances of “The Boss” while the 10 piece, dynamic, explosive band generates all the high energy of Bruce’s “E Street Band”.

This is an Experience you will not want to miss.

In 1980, Lonnie Glass performed in his Springsteen Tribute throughout Ontario with a 6 pc band. He understood that Springsteen, although an excellent Rocking Band had not yet achieved ICONIC stature and wouldn't for a few decades. Still, Lonnie kept the idea brewing in his mind, knowing one day he would organize the BAND that might do Justice to the NOW Legendary BOSS. Lonnie is 1 year younger than Bruce but with all the high energy and vocal presence, and ripping Telecaster rhythms of The main man. In 2019 his dream came to fruition with the birth of "THUNDER ROAD" - A Springsteen Experience.

Drawing from the finest Victoria Musicians of both Rock & Jazz, he brought together 10 superb persons to fill each of the E-Streets personas. Stewart McClellan, donning his bandana and his Strat, rocks all the Little Steven licks and vibe while Scott Sutherland handles the nuanced excellence of Nils Lofgren. Lonnie's "Patti" is Shelley "Sweet Potato" Brown, from Chemainus, BC, who captures the vocals and acoustic guitar showcased beautifully in "Tougher Than The Rest, Brilliant Disguise, Fire & Human Touch". The rhythm section of Alex Campbell(drums) & Sheldon Bordal(Bass) are exactly duplicating Max Weinberg and Garry Tallent. Then there are Charlie Fox on B-3 Organ and the brilliant Ashley Wey on piano, both exceptional players. Brad Hawkes is a mainstay in the Victoria scene on Percussion and Sarah Smith rounds out the Band on both Acoustic & Electric. Then, of course, we come to "The Big Man"... Thunder Road's "BIG MAN" is Victoria's sensational Saxman, Paul Wainwright. A common statement after one of Thunder Road's Concerts is: "It's like having the E-Street Band with The Boss in your living room"

With a FULL slate of theatres for 2022, people will hear 25 of Springsteen's Classics plus all the visual experience as well of this Iconic Rocking, musical genius.
